JAMMU, Nov 8: A friendly match was organised to celebrate 553th Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev ji at Bhargava Public School Gadigarh, here today.
The match was organised between Hockey Legend Jammu and United Brother Hockey Club in which United Brother emerged as winner. Mahant Rajesh Bittu, chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Religious, Tourism, Culture and Heritage Trust (JKRTCHT) was the chief guest while Satish Sharma, Naib Tehsildar was the guest of honour.
The chief guest said that given the current social scenario there is a dire need to promote sports across the Union Territory in order to divert the attention of vulnerable youth from the menace of drugs. He asserted that sports can be used as the most effective tool to channelize youth energy towards Nation Building.
He hoped that the Trust will further expand its initiatives to cover every aspect related to use of sports as an effective tool to eradicate drug menace among the youth.
The match was organised by Jaswinder Singh and PP Singh.
