JAMMU, Dec 14: Zorawar Hockey Club, Satwari, Guru Nanak Nagar Hockey Club (GNNHC) and Hira Nagar Hockey Club registered resounding wins over their rivals in the ongoing 3rd Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna Memorial Hockey Tournament, being organized by Santpura Danna Charitable Trust, Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu, under the aegis of Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here today.
In the first match, Zorawar Club defeated Deshmesh Club, Nanak Nagar by four goals to one (4-1). For Zorawar Club, first goal was scored by Shivay Vaid early in the 4th minute, which was followed by a hat-trick scored by Vijay Vaid in 24th, 27th and 40th minutes respectively. For Deshmesh Club, the only goal was scored by Gifty in 18th minute.
In another match, GNNHC defeated Ajit Club, Gole Gujaral by three goals to nil (3-0). For GNNHC, Rakesh Choudhary scored the first and second goal in 2nd and 10th minute, while the 3rd goal was netted by Sharanpal Singh in 45th minute.
In the third match of the day, Hira Nagar Hockey Club blanked Young Star Hockey Club by three goals to nil (3-0). Suraj Singh, Vikram Singh and Abhinandan scored goals for the winners in 9th, 27th and 47th minutes respectively.
Mushtaq Chadda, General Manager SRTC, Harbhajan Singh, Divisional Manager GIC and Nater Bhadari, Taxation Advisor were the chief guests in three matches respectively during the day.
The matches were officiated by Charanjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Jagjit Singh, Joginder Singh, Daljeet Singh Bhatia, Amarjeet Singh and Kulwant Singh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, GNNHC will take on Kashmir XI at 1:30 pm, while Hira Nagar HC will lock horns with MBS Hockey Club Simbal Camp at 3 pm.
