Hisham sparkles again as Rangers United outplays Singh Akhnoor by 36 runs

JAMMU, May 29: After hitting magnificent 70 runs yesterday Hisham Saleem scored second consecutive fifty today to help Rangers United Cricket Club defeat Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor by 36 runs in the ongoing JKCA Jammu District Cricket Tournament, being held under the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member State Human Rights Commission and Member Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Rangers United Cricket Club scored a good total of 237 runs in 30 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Hisham Saleem top scored with 51 runs, while Musaif Ajaz contributed 41 runs to the total. Ayush and Atul also scored 31 and 30 runs respectively. From Singh CC, Koushal took 3 wickets, while Aqib claimed 2 wickets. Jadvinder also claimed one wicket.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor scored scored 201 runs to lose the match by 36 runs. Jadvinder top scored with 78 runs, while Nitin contributed 60 runs to the total. From Rangers United, Sahil and Abhishant took 2 wickets each, while Vivek, Vicky and Anmol Bhan shared 1 wicket apiece. Hisham Saleem was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
Meanwhile, at Police Lines Kathua, Rising Star Nagri defeated Partap XI Kathua by 87 runs in a one-sided contest.
Batting first, Rising Star Nagri scored 150 runs in 25.2 overs. Rishab and Sahil scored 24 and 20 runs respectively. From Partap XI, Nitish and Ravi took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Partap XI bundled out for paltry total of 63 runs, thus lost the match by 87 runs. Akshay was the only batsman to cross double figure mark scoring 11 runs. Avinash was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets while Sahil bagged 3 wickets. Avinash was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb bowling display.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh, Vijay Raina, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Jatinder Singh, Dheeraj Andotra, Rohit Sharma and Mohan Singh.
