Hiranagar Club, Khalsa Warrior register wins

JAMMU, Nov 19: Hiranagar Hockey Club and Khalsa Warrior Hockey Club registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing 5th Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament 2019, being organized by Kashmir Sikh Sangat (KSS) under the aegis of Hockey J&K being played at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here today.
In the first match, Hiranagar Hockey Club Kathua defeated Champions Club by three goals to nil (3-0). From Hiranagar Club, the 1st and 3rd goal was scored by Sandeep Singh in 12th and 55th minutes, while the 2nd goal was scored by Suraj Singh in 39th mintute.
In the second match, Khalsa Warrior Gole Gujral defeated Lachipura Hockey Club Kathua by three goals to two (3-2). From Khalsa Warrior Hockey Club, all the three goals were scored by Balmeet Singh in 6th, 11th and 57th minutes respectively.
From Lachjipura Club Kathua, the 1st goal was scored by Navjot Singh in 37th mintute, while 2nd goal was scored by Randeep Singh in 38th minute.
In the first match, KN Singh (Rtd XEN) was the chief guest and Sukhdev Singh was the guest of honour.
In the second match, Draksha Andrabi was the chief guest and Rajeev Sharma Industrialist was the guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Balmeet Singh, Angad Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Rohit Sharma, Vishal Verma, Anjali Thakur and GS Bakshi, Tournament Director.
In tomorrow’s fixture, National Hockey Club Satwari will take on Ajit Club at 2 pm, while Banda Singh Bahadur Club Poonch will lock horns with J K Sports Club at 3 pm.
The Tournament is being conducted under the supervision of Tejwant Singh, President Kashmir Sikh Sangat and Karamjit Singh, Organizing Secretary.
