Hiranagar Club bags Football title; Jammu Club lifts Kabaddi trophy

JAMMU, Mar 16: Hiranagar Football Club defeated Ranbir School in the summit clash, while Jammu Club got the better of Kathua Club in the Kabaddi title clash to lift the trophies in the Zonal Level Police Sports Festival for boys and girls, being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu at Gulshan ground, here today.
The Festival includes Cricket, Football, Kabbadi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Tug-of-War and Athletic events, being organized under the overall supervision of IGP Jammu, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, while Rajesh Sharma, SO to IGP Jammu is the in-charge of organizing team and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer & Member Sports Council Jammu is the Coordinator of the event.
The slogan of the sports festival is “Let’s Play to Keep Stress Away”.
Rajesh Sharma, SO to IGP Jammu was the Chief guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams on the occasion.
The chief guest in presence of Rajesh Gill distributed the trophies among the winners and runners-up teams.
Earlier, in the Football final, Hiranagar Football Club defeated Ranbir School Club by five goals to nil (5-0), while in Kabaddi final, Jammu Club trounced Kathua Club by 2 points.
In Cricket boys, Jammu Rising Club defeated HCC Ramnagar by 85 runs.
Batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored 168 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 17 overs with Sahil Lotra (56), Akshit (32) and Sarthak (31) being the main scorers. From bowling side, Udhay took 2 wickets, while Manjeet, Rakesh and Aditya claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, HCC Ramnagar bundled out for 83 runs in 13.2 overs thus lost the match by 85 runs. Sahil Lotra took 3 wickets, while Marutwan and Harman claimed 2 wickets each. Samad and Yuvraj shared 1 wicket each. Sahil Lalotra was declared as man of the match.
In another match, Kishtwar Cricket Club beat Balhar Club Kathua by 3 wickets. Batting first, Balhar Club Kathua scored 151 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, while  in reply Kishtwar Club chased the target in 19.5 for the loss of 7 wickets  thus won the match by 3 wickets.
