JAMMU, Mar 10: Himalayan Degree College Rajouri in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family today organized a symposium on ‘Truth and Non-violence’ in the College Auditorium, today.
About 20 students deliberated on the subject and projected the Gandhian concept and practice of truth and non-violence in the present era of confusion, chaos, violence and communal hatred.
The Principal of the College chaired the event where as the three senior faculty members acted as judges.
In his presidential address the Principal elaborated on the values of tolerance, truth and non-violence and stressed upon the need to establish peace in all circumstance.
A documentary on Gandhi was also displayed during the programme.
Aalia Iqbal, Najma and Divya Sharma were adjudged as first, second and third respectively.
The Programme was compered by Geetu Sharma, senior faculty member of the College.
