JAMMU, Apr 29: A maiden venture in Jammu, an inter-city three day IIMUN Conference commenced at Heritage School, here today.
Heritage School in collaboration with Indian International Model United Nations is organising the event to provide a platform for students to develop their public speaking and debating skills as well as gain a multilateral view of world affairs.
Around 150 delegates are enthusiastically participating from different schools and cities of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab in the three day competition.
IIMUN is one of the leading brands in education conference management having organised the Asia’s largest youth conference in Mumbai which is run by youngsters.
In the opening ceremony, the guests and delegates were warmly welcomed followed by lighting of the lamp which was lit to invoke the blessings of God.
The Director General, Jashu thanked everyone for their support in gathering momentum in favour of India’s bid for permanent seat in Security General. Shiv Vandana, a graceful, well synchronised dance performance was greeted with a huge round of applause.
Awareness was created through a video where light was thrown on United Nations, Security General and also promoting the stand that India deserves a permanent seat in Security Council.
The chief guest Idrees Ul Haq, social activist and Vikrant Mahajan, Guinness Book of World record holder, the zealous patrons of the organisation along with the Principal Mr. Jagadish Singh Dhami addressed the gathering, emphasising on positivity and good inter country relations.
The conference was declared open by Secretary General Ms. Shreya with the resounding of the Hammer.
