JAMMU, Feb 8: Jammu witnessed an inspiring celebration of fitness and sustainability with the successful conduct of the Herath Half Marathon edition-3, which attracted over 1,000 runners from across India. Supported by the J&K Sports Council, the 21 km race was flagged off by Anissa Nabi, Chief Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council, while the 10 km run was flagged off by Sanjeev Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, Bhaderwah Development Authority. The 5 km category was flagged off by Dr Rajeev Bhagat, MLA Bishnah. The Saksham Walkathon (3 km) and Cyclothon were flagged off by Himanshu Sharma, Divisional Sales Head, Indian Oil Corporation.
This year’s start and finish point was Fatima Convent School, Bishnah, with the race route laid along the Ring Road, which was closed to traffic to ensure runner safety. Hydration points and medical facilities were arranged throughout the course.
In the 21.1 km Half Marathon (18-35 years) category, Hansh Raj secured first place in the male section with a timing of 01:12:16, followed by Munesh Choudhary at 01:12:32 and Balavinder Singh at 01:13:52. In the female section, Anjali Rajput finished first in 02:00:33, followed by Sakshi Thakur with 02:02:08 and Rimpi Devi clocking 02:04:46.
In the 21.1 km (35-45 years) male category, Yogesh Sharma stood first with a time of 01:20:19, Aman Gupta came second at 01:23:59 and Kawal Singh finished third in 01:36:08. In the female category, Dr Kuljit Kour secured first place with 02:27:09, followed by Anjali Tuteja at 02:31:02 and Ruchi Singh Chauhan at 02:31:13.
In the 21.1 km (45-55 years) male category, Joga Singh won first place with 01:24:49, followed by Mangat Singh at 01:26:15 and Abhishake Gupta at 01:39:00. In the female section, Anuradha finished first with 02:12:44, followed by Dr Pratiksha Raghuwanshi at 02:30:22.
In the 21.1 km (55 years & above) male category, Krishan Kumar clocked 01:44:27 to secure first place, followed by Om Parkash Sharma at 01:48:58 and Bishnesh Kumar at 01:50:01. In the female category, Rekha Katoch won with a timing of 02:29:16, followed by Roohi Sultana at 02:44:54.
In the 10 km (18-35 years) male category, Sandeep finished first in 00:33:19, followed by Anil Kumar Yadav at 00:33:35 and Amit K Yadav at 00:33:44. In the female category, Shamshad Bano topped with 00:45:29, followed by Salma Devi at 00:47:58 and Alisha Kour at 00:57:36.
In the 10 km (35-45 years) male category, Ramanand Yadav won with 00:40:21, followed by R Rsangra at 00:42:00 and Mir Iqbal-ul-Rashid at 00:42:07. In the female category, Vasudha Sharma finished first in 01:00:14, followed by Gaganmeet Kour at 01:02:14 and Seema Sharma at 01:03:41.
In the 10 km (45-55 years) male category, Ram Raj secured first place with 00:38:42, followed by Parshottam at 00:40:56 and Harshvardhan at 00:43:37. In the female section, Dr Rahilla Parveen finished first with 01:06:42, followed by Seema Kharyal at 01:08:25 and Singh Sonia at 01:13:02.
In the 10 km (55 years & above) male category, Naresh Sharma won with 00:50:59, followed by Satbir Singh at 00:59:04 and Tarlok Chand Sharma at 01:01:16. In the female category, Anu Talwar finished first with 01:45:41.
In the 5 km (8-14 years) male category, Govinda Choudhary clocked 00:25:33 to win, followed by Aradhay Sharma at 00:26:27 and Amrit Choudhary at 00:31:42. In the female category, Soma Bera finished first in 00:35:11, followed by Ruhi Gupta at 00:38:02 and Abhitee Sharma at 00:39:32.
In the 5 km (14-18 years) male category, Sourabh Sharma won with 00:17:40, followed by Rahil Manhas at 00:19:08 and Harsh Bhau at 00:19:15. In the female category, Sonali Sharma secured first place with 00:18:01, followed by Sunakshi Thakur at 00:30:43 and Shivali Devi at 00:32:57.
In the 5 km (18-35 years) male category, Ajay Kumar finished first with 00:17:58, followed by Himanshu Kumar at 00:20:39 and Rajveer Singh at 00:21:08. In the female category, Lalita Choudhary topped with 00:33:37, followed by Jasmine Kour at 00:33:41 and Divanshi Nathyal at 00:42:37.
In the 5 km (35-45 years) male category, Sarandeep Singh won with 00:28:22, followed by Kunal Khajuria at 00:30:04 and Atul Sharma at 00:30:11. In the female category, Anjana Choudhary finished first with 00:35:31, followed by Pramya Gulati at 00:37:59 and Jessi Gandhi at 00:38:13.
In the 5 km (45-55 years) male category, Jagdeep Kumar topped with 00:25:29, followed by Vivek Gandotra at 00:27:03 and Sachin Gandotra at 00:30:11. In the female category, Bhavna Salathia secured first place with 00:32:03, followed by Monika at 00:44:19 and Tanmeet Kour at 00:48:12.
In the 5 km (55 years & above) male category, Dr Sanjeev Mohan won with 00:29:06, followed by ND Mahajan at 00:44:22 and Darshan Singh at 00:44:55. In the female category, Manisha finished first with 01:02:51.
In the 3 km Open Category, first place was claimed by Nikhil Bhatia (Bib No 3019), followed by Shvan and Sahil Choudhary, while the top positions in the other section went to Manpreet Singh, Aadvik Verma, and Sahil Choudhary.
