Henan at murderous best in his unbeaten 178-run knock

*Amir, Asif slam tons; Jahid, Shubham take fifers

JAMMU, June 28: Talented middle-order batsman, Henan Malik was at his butchering best as he showed stellar grit, elegance, grace and tenacity to notch up magnificent unbeaten century, sending the rival bowlers on a leather-hunt in his power-packed knock of 178 runs off just 125 balls, studded with 17 delectable boundaries and 6 massive sixes to guide his team to a resounding win, while the duo of Amir Khan and Asif Ramzan scored brilliant centuries and the pair of Jahid Nazir and Shubham Khajuria took 5-wicket hauls in the ongoing JKCA Senior Men’s One-Day Tournament, being played at four different venues across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The performances of Gowhar Altaf, Adil Reshi, Parvez Rasool, Umar Nazir, Shahrukh Dar, Paras Sharma, Sidharth Bhat, Ankush Sharma, Suryansh Raina, Sunil Kumar and Mohd Mudhasir were also delight to watch on day-4 of the tournament today.
At GGM Science College Hostel Ground Jammu, JKCA A4 defeated A3 by 6 wickets in an easy context.
Batting first, JKCA A4 scored a fighting total of 251 runs. Ankush Sharma showed guts to score 53 runs, while skipper Suryansh Raina (48) and Sahil Lotra (38) were among the other major contributors. For JKCA A5, Sunil Kumar took 3 wickets, while Mohd Araf and Sunil Sharma claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA A5 sailed on a spectacular innings of unbeaten 178 runs by Henan Malik and chased the target easily by losing 4 wickets. Abhinav Puri (28) and Sunil Kumar (21*) were the other contributors. Henan, in particular stole the show with a top class innings.
For JKCA A4, Deepak Dogra and Akash Choudhary bagged 2 wickets each.
At Country Cricket Stadium Gharota,
JKCA A3 defeated A2 by 29 runs.
Earlier, put into bat, JKCA A3 scored 201 runs. Sidharth Bhat (48) and Yogesh Sikka (42) were the main scorers. Skipper Shubham Khajuria was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 wickets by conceding 29 runs. He hit good areas and was bang on target. Rohit Sharma and Adil took 2 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA A2 managed to score 173 runs to ose the match by 29 runs. Paras Sharma top scored with 50 runs, while Shubham Khajuria contributed 28 runs to the total.
For JKCA A3, Jatin Wadhawan bagged 4 wickets, while Randayal, Balwinder and Ritik claimed 2 wickets each.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Ground-A Srinagar, JKCA B1 defeated B3 by 56 runs.
Batting first, B1 scored 234 runs in 44.4 overs. Zaid Mohd and Sheikh Usaid contributed 49 runs each, while skipper Parvez Rasool contributed 46 runs.
For JKCA B3, Aafan Pandit and Yasir Ahmed Bhat took 3 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA B3 managed to score 173 runs to lose the match by 56 runs. Adil Reshi (53) and Ishtiaq Ellahi (22) were the main scorers.
For JKCA B1, Shahrukh Dar captured 3 wickets and Parvez Rasool claimed 2 wickets.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium-B Srinagar, JKCA B2 defeated B4 in a high scoring match by 40 runs
Batting first, B2 scored a huge total of 317 runs. Amir Khan played a brilliant innings of 102 runs, while Manzoor Dar contributed 42 runs to the total.
For B4, Mohd Mudhasir took 3 wickets and skipper Waseem Raza took 2 wickets.
In reply, B4 scored 278 runs, thus lost the match by 40 runs. Asif Ramzan scored magnificent 107 runs, while Gowhar Altaf contributed 58 runs.
For bowling side, Jahid Nazir took 5 wickets, while Umar Nazir bagged 4 wickets.
