DODA, Dec 5: Hashmi Cricket Club (HCC) Kalihand trounced Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Dhara by 24 runs and won the final match of the ongoing 3rd Jamsheed Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament at Sports Ground Kalihand, here today.
The tournament was organized by Fareed Khan and Ahsan Butt of Kalihand Sports Club under the aegis of Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and in this tournament 14 teams from different parts of the region participated.
Earlier, after winning the toss, HCC Kalihand elected to bat first. Batting first, HCC set a target of 156 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing all their wickets. Syed Alyas and Tahseen contributed 47 and 32 runs respectively for their team. From FCC Dhara, Saddam and Sunny shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, FCC Dhara failed to chase the target and was bundled out for 132 runs in 17.3 overs. Saddam was the highest scorer with 30 runs while Joginder added 27 runs to the total. From HCC Kalihand, Tahseen bowled a fine spell and took 4 wickets followed by Jahangir with 2 wickets.
Later-on, Tahseen was declared as man of the match for his best performance, while man of the Tournament award was given to Syed Alyas of HCC Kalihand for his best all round performance.
General Secretary YSCC Faizan Ali Tramboo was the chief guest while Waseem Raja Chief Coordinator YSCC was the guest of honour besides Joint Secretary YSCC Rajid Ali Wani and Shabir Ahmed were the special guests on the occasion who presented Rs 6000 with trophy to the final winning team and Rs 4000 to the final runners-up team.
Meanwhile, out of YSCC Welfare Funds, chief guest Tramboo along with other guests presented Rs 1500 each to both final participating teams and Rs 2000 to the organizing committee of this tournament.
In his address, chief guest Faizan Ali Tramboo lavished praise for the local organizers on holding the event which provided platform to budding cricketers to showcase their hidden skill.
The match was officiated by Fareed Khan and Hafiz Shan as umpires while Syed Kashif acted as scorer.
