HBET launches scholarship camp for poor children

JAMMU, Dec 5: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) today launched nine-day scholarship camp during which an amount of Rs 4,31,660 will be distributed to the needy students.
Over 70 children from Akalpur, Arnia, Bahu Fort and Birpur attended the scholarship distribution programme on the 1st day of the camp. HBET is supporting education for the girl child in rural areas of Jammu region studying in Government schools.
The Managing Trustee told the students about the benefits of education and advised them to make full use of scholarship and support of the Trust.
During the camp, medical tests as well as counseling of the students were done to know about their health and psychological help.
The Trust, which has a mission to change lives of needy children through literacy support, has been providing scholarships and conducting various other child welfare schemes for past 18 years. A total of 550 children will receive scholarships during the nine days camp being held by the Trust.
