SRINAGAR, Aug 10: The High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) teams summited two mountain peaks in Kashmir valley.
An army spokesperson said two separate teams of HAWS summited Mount Harmukh (5148M) and Mount Kolahoi (5425M) successfully.
“One Officer and Five instructors of HAWS led to the summit of Mount Kolahoi fixing 1370M of rope in the terrain mix of Ice fall area, Rock faces  and soft snow patches,” he said.
He said the expedition begun on August 1, 2017 and successfully culminated with all individuals on summit at 1225 hrs on August 5, 2017.
“This feat has once again demonstrated the professional competence and readiness of HAWS to operate in high altitude areas and glaciated terrain,” he said.
