Hadi of Iran lifts 15th Mission Dosti Dangal title

KATRA, Oct 2: Hadi of Iran played a quite entertaining bout against his opponent and international Indian Wrestler, Mousam Khatri to win the title bout. However, Khatri failed to even open his account in the 12-minute bout and lost it 00-12 at full to its capacity, SMVDSB Sports Complex, here today.
The title winner, Hadi was presented whopping Rs 1.25 lakh cash prize while runners-up Khatri got Rs 75,000.
For the second main bout held for Rs one lakh, Benia Min of J&K Police gave a tough fight to his opponent from Delhi Mohnu before he lost in the third round by 16-12. The game was tied at 12-12 in the third round itself after Benia had taken 06-01 lead but could maintain it in the following rounds.
In another Rs one lakh bout, Mouli of Maharashtra defeated Gani of Punjab. In all, wrestlers from the four nations of Cuba, Georgia, Iran and India contested in this Kushti Maha Kumbh with majority of the participants from hosts J&K.
Lone woman wrestler from Jammu and Kashmir, Nahida of Sopore lost to otherwise technically sound, Sangeeta of Delhi. However, she stole the show for being only woman contestant from J&K that too from Kashmir.
Advisor to the Governor, Farooq Khan was chief guest while Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma was guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were former Minister, Pawan Gupta; former Minister, Ajay Nanda; former MLA Ramnagar, R S Pathania, District Development Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwar Chib; SSP Reasi, Rashmi Wazir; SP Katra, Naresh Kumar and other officials of the police and civil administration.
