SRINAGAR, Oct 5: Governor N.N. Vohra and First Lady Usha Vohra, interacted with members of the Yoga Society of Kashmir and the players who participated in the 2nd International Yoga Championship which was recently held at Srinagar, at Raj Bhavan here today.
Governor observed that Yoga is enormously beneficial for the development of balanced mental capacity and a healthy body and emphasized that learning to practise yoga from a young age helps in developing mental and physical discipline which would enable the practitioner to lead a wholesome, stress free and balanced life.
Governor observed the Sports and ISM Departments should encourage and help such Societies to organize regular Yoga workshops in various locations in the three regions of the State. He also suggested that the Sports Department should conduct an International Yoga Championship at Jammu during winters, to enable the players from State to develop capacities for competing in championships at the national and international levels.
