Gull inaugurates Khelo India Wushu Women’s League C’ship

SRINAGAR, Sept 7: Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull inaugurated two day-long Khelo India Wushu Women’s League Championship at SKICC, here today.
Around 700 girls from 15 districts in all divisions are participating in the championship. 24 Khelo India State Wushu Women’s League championships were organised on 28 and 29 August across the country. Zonal and National League Wushu championships will be organised well before December 2023. Approximately 60 Lakhs of Cash awards will be disbursed among the winning women athletes in all divisions.
Nuzhat Gull, Secretary Sports Council appreciated Wushu Association of J&K for organising Khelo India Wushu Women’s league championship in the summer capital of Union Territory of J&K. She said it is the need of the hour to encourage and focus on women’s athletes, as the Women athletes of the UT J&K.
The Wushu sports has produced so many international Women Wushu athletes, who have earned medals at the International level such as Ayeera Chisti, Munazah Gazi, Sadia Tariq, Kaifa Shah, Ansa Chisti, Jabeena Akhter, Abida from Bandipora and Riya Chib etc. President of Wushu Association of J&K, Vijay Saraf and General Secretary, Bhavneet appreciated the organising committee for organising the event in the summer capital.
