DODA, July 21: Gujarat Eleven registered convincing victory over Manhas Cricket Club by 6 wickets to advance into the next stage of the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club, Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Manhas Cricket Club set a target of 148 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs, with the contribution of 39 runs by Nikhil Kotwal and 32 runs by Kavit Manhas. From Gujarat Eleven, Lukman Patel and Iqbal Sayed shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, after getting good start from the opening batsmen, Gujarat Eleven team chased the stipulated target in 15.5 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Faizal Mansuri was the top scorer with 41 runs, while Imtiyaz Pathan and Yasin Patel contributed 29 and 28 runs respectively for their team. From Manhas Cricket Club, Lakhan Jamwal scalped 3 wickets, while Kavit Manhas took 1 wicket. Yasin Patel of Gujarat Eleven was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance who was given prize by chief guest, former Chairman MC Doda, Zaffar Ullah Rather along with Dr Sajjad Hussain Kraipak and Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev.
The match was officiated by Ifroz Rather and Vijay Partab Singh as umpires, while Milind Gore and Waseem Raja maintained the scorebook.
