DODA, July 25: Green Shaheen Cricket Club Doda and Rehmat Cricket Club Doda registered resounding victories over their rivals and advanced into the next stage of the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017 being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
In the first match, earlier after winning the toss, Gujarat Eleven team set a target of 174 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Kavaljeet Singh top scored with 46 runs, while Mubarak Patel contributed 37 runs to the total. From GSCC Doda, Nadeem Dar scalped 3 wickets, while Abid Nabi, Nazir Malik, Jaspreet Singh and Amir Wani shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Green Shaheen Cricket Club Doda managed to chase the required target in 13 overs for the loss of 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Riyaz Paul was the highest scorer with magnificent 71 runs, while Abid Nabi contributed valuable 34 runs to the total. From Gujarat Eleven, Yaseen Patel scalped 3 wickets while Iqbal Sayed and Kavaljeet Singh shared 1 wicket each. Riyaz Paul of Green Shaheen Cricket Club Doda team was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant batting performance who was given prize by Senor Congress Leader, Javed Iqbal Malik, Adil Karim Wani, Syed Riaz Ahmed and Fiaz Ahmed Pampori.
In another match, batting first after winning the toss, Rehmat Cricket Club Doda set a decent target of 166 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Ikram Pathan was the top scorer with 56 runs off 43 balls, while Yuvraj Solanki contributed 30 runs for the team. From Young Star Cricket Club Ghat, Manik Gupta and Ram Dayal shared 3 wickets each.
In reply, YSCC Ghat bundled out for 147 runs in 18.4 overs, thus lost the match by 19 runs. Manik Gutpa top scored with 40 runs, while Bandeep Singh contributed 32 runs to the total. From RCC Doda, Abhijeet, Kulvinder and Puneet shared 2 wickets each, while Rahul Mussa claimed 1 wicket. Ikram Pathan of Rehmat Cricket Club Doda was adjudged as the man of the match for his batting performance.
The matches were officiated by V P Singh, Ifroz Rather and Munish Zutshi as umpires while Milind Gore and Waseem Raja maintained the scorebook.
