JAMMU, Nov 25: Reiterating commitment of the Government towards all round development of the State, Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi said that with active support from the Central Government mega development initiatives have been taken by the coalition Government in the State. She said the present dispensation is steadfast on the resolve to provide a transparent, corruption free and responsive administration.
“The recent package of 80000 crores sanctioned by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a big boost for the State and the funds would be utilised to take the State to new heights of development,” she added.
The Minister was speaking at a public grievance redressal camp at Akhnoor, today.
MLA, Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma was also present at the camp.
Director School Education Smita Sethi, SDM Akhnoor, SDM Chowki Chowra and other senior officers from education, civil and police administration attended the camp.
Underscoring on the initiatives taken in the Education Department, Priya said that under the guidance of Education Minister Naeem Akhtar series of decisions have been taken to improve the quality of education in the State and all out efforts are being made to bring a positive change in the education sector.
“We have made efforts to ensure that the people get best education in Government schools and the age old confidence of people in Government run institutions is won back,” she added.
While listening to the demands of education infrastructure in the town, the Minister sanctioned Rs 5.0 lacs from her CDF for the higher secondary school Nadiwala.
On the occasion, Priya also felicitated the students who had excelled in their field and called upon the youngsters to work hard toward reaching excellence in their chosen streams.
The people of the area presented their demands with regard to development, education sector and other issues of public importance.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues projected by the people and assured that all genuine demands would be redressed in a time bound manner.
Later, Priya reviewed the progress of the schools in the area and directed the Director School Education to ensure that best possible human resources and education infrastructure is made available to the students. She said that the performance of teachers would be judged and best performers would be rewarded and non performers would be punished.
