Gousia XI, FCC enter semis in Budgam Premier League

BUDGAM, May 10: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the quarterfinals, Gousai XI and FCC Falchil sealed berth in the semifinals  of the ongoing Budgam Premier League, being played at Sheikhpora playfield, here.
In the first match played today, Gousia XI defeated Zainakadal XI by a narrow margin of 6 runs.
Batting first, Gousia XI scored a fighting total of 149 runs in 19 overs, losing all their wickets.
In reply, Zanakadal XI managed to score 143 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus losthe match by 6 runs. Owais Shah of Gousia XI was adjudged as man of the match for taking 3 wickets and scoring 15 runs.
In another quarterfinal match, FCC Falchil thrashed UCC by a big margin of 81 runs.
FCC scored a decent total of 153 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
In reply, UCC bundled out for 72 runs in 11.3 overs, thus lost the match by 81 runs. Shiraz Ahmed was declared as man of the match for his 4-wicket haul.
