Gopinath Club, Magnum-XI outplay rivals, advance to next stage

JAMMU, Sept 24: Gopinath Cricket Club (GCC) and Magnum-XI Cricket Club outplayed rivals in their respective matches and advanced to the next stage of the ongoing 1st Coloured KP T-20 Cricket Cup, being played at KC School ground, here today.
In the first match, GCC registered 5 wickets win over All Z Well Cricket Club. Electing to bat first, All Z Well Cricket Club scored 112 runs by losing 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Anil chipped in 24 runs with the help of five boundaries, while Arun scored 23 runs including three boundaries and Ramesh made 14 runs.
From GCC side, Puran scalped 3 wickets by giving 18 runs in 4 overs, while Bal ji and Satish took one wicket apiece by giving 12 and 24 runs respectively in their 4 overs spell.
In the second inning, GCC chased the target by losing 5 wickets in 16.1 overs. Ajay was the top scorer with 27 runs off 20 balls including 4 boundaries, while Vijay made 20 runs and Vicky chipped in 15 runs.
From All Z Well Cricket Club side, Ashu took 2 wickets, while Anil clinched one wicket.
Puran of GCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In the second match, Magnum-XI Cricket Club smashed White Cricket Club (WCC) by 2 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, WCC set a target of 115 runs by losing all the wickets in 16 overs. Arun Bakshi chipped in 17 runs, while Rajesh Dutta made 16 runs and Rowil scored 12 runs.
From Magnum-XI Cricket Club side, Vinod was the pick of the bowler, who scalped 4 wickets by giving 32 runs in his 4 overs spell, while Vicky took 2 wickets by giving 8 runs in 2.2 overs.
In reply, Magnum-XI Cricket Club chased the target in 18 overs by losing 8 wickets. Sagar played a splendid inning of 44 runs off 28 balls including three boundaries and three sixes, while Sunil chipped in 14 runs and Surinder made 12 runs.
From WCC side, Sheru and Deepu took 2 wickets each by giving 19 and 28 runs respectively in their 4 overs spell.
Vinod of Magnum-XI Cricket Club was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Vikas, Sunny, Rajat and Sahil Bhat.
