JAMMU, July 24: Players showed composure and promise during District Level Inter-School competitions of Under-19 boys and girls in the disciplines of Badminton and Under-14, 17 and 19 years in the disciplines of Judo, Fencing, Football and Hockey boys and girls on day-3 at various venues in District Jammu.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports District Jammu under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports J&K Srinagar and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director, while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
In Football Under-14 years boys at GGM Science College Jammu, Jodhamal School defeated its rival in the 1st semifinal by a solitary goal 1-0. Lavish Jamwal was the goal scorer, while in the 2nd semifinal, MHAC Nabani beat BSF Paloura again by (1-0). Sambhav Sahani scored the goal for the winners.
In Under-14 Hockey final, SOS Gole Gujral defeated Combined School by 1-0.
In Badminton U-19 girls, APS Ratnuchak defeated Carval Convent by 2-1 in the first semifinal, while Maharishi Vidya Mandir drubbed APS MIER Jammu by 2-0.
