JAMMU, Aug 29: The mountaineering expedition by Army to Mount Chamser Kangri (6640 m), a peak located on the Eastern Bank of Tso Moriri Lake in the Rupshu region of Eastern Ladakh was today flagged-in by Lt Gen Paramjit Singh Sangha, GOC White Knight Corps.
The GOC also complimented the expedition team and exhorted its members to continue striving for such challenging missions in future too.
A handout stated that the expedition was undertaken by troops of White Knight Corps with its team comprising three officers, two JCOs and 14 other ranks led by Major Vikas Kumar Rathore and it was flagged off from Narian on July 29.
Displaying true grit and unflinching resolve, the team successfully scaled the peak on August 20 despite inclement weather and poor visibility conditions. (PTI)
