JAMMU, Aug 20: Girls of district Jammu show promise and composure during the District Level Inter-School competitions in the discipline of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Judo, Wushu and Thang-Tha, which got underway here today. The competitions were declared open by Raj Rani Headmaster Govt. H.S Jammu Cantt in the presence of ZPEOs Sher Singh and Kiran Jyoti.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of Annual calendar of sports activities under the supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports and Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
Earlier, in Volleyball, Govt. HSS Sunjwan beat Govt. HSS Gandhi Nagar by 2-0 sets (25-21,25-12) and Govt. HSS Bhour Camp beat Govt. HSS Mandal by 2-1 sets (25-13, 22-25, 25-8).
The matches were officiated by Mulkh Raj and Jagjit Singh.
In Kabaddi, Govt. HSS Bhour Camp beat Govt. HSS Bahu Fort by 23-5 points and Govt. HSS Mandal trounced Govt. HSS Channi Himat by 33-19 points.
The matches were officiated by Rajesh Bandral, Harvinder Singh and Ravinder.
Wushu Under-19 girls, -44Kg: Palak of Govt. HSS Canal Road, 1st; -48 Kg: Anu Radha of Govt. HSS Canal Road, 1st; -52 Kg: Priya of BHMP HSS, 1st; -56 Kg: Ancy George of Govt. HSS Canal Road, 1st; -60 Kg: Riya Chib of Govt. HSS,1st and -65 Kg: Monika of Govt. HSS Canal Road, 1st.
In Judo Under-19 girls, -40 Kg: Arohi Khajuria of Govt. GHSS Camp, 1st; -44 Kg: Bhumika Mahajan of MHAC Nagbani, 1st; -48 Kg: Sanjana Manhas Govt. HSS Paloura, 1st; -52 Kg: Neharika of SOS Jammu, 1st; -56 Kg: Vishali Choudhary of JKP Kunjwani, 1st; -61 Kg: Harshna Bhagat of SOS Jammu, 1st and +61 Kg: Rhytham Kohli of SOS Jammu, 1st.

In Thang-Tha Under-19 boys, -50 Kg: Yanini of Shastri Memorial HSS, 1st; -54 Kg: Priya of Govt. HSS Bhalwal, 1st; -58 Kg: Neha of Govt. HSS Bhalwal, 1st and -62 Kg: Ritika of BHMP School, 1st.
The matches were officiated by ZPEO Sher Singh and PET’s, Ajay Paul Gill, Omeshwar, Vaneet and Satika.
