GHSS Samba organizes ‘Prayavaran Mitra’

SAMBA, June 2: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) for Boys Samba organized a ‘Prayavaran Mitra’ programme in its premises, here today.
The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the student community about the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature India.
Various programmes on the main theme ‘Forests for Sustainable Livelihood’ were held in the institution which included Painting Competition on the topic ‘Environmental Degradation’, Industrial visit to SIDCO Samba Complex; Debate Competition on the topic ‘Over Industrialization is Boon or Bane’.
Thirteen students from various classes took part in the symposium held on the main theme and threw light on the topic. The competition was held under the overall supervision of Neelam Gandotra, Principal of the School, while Lecturer Aneet Kour and Teacher Vikram Sambyal coordinated the event.
Lecturers Rajinder Sharma, Pooja Jamwal and Rita Devi (Master) were the judges of the competition.
While speaking on the occasion, School Principal stressed upon maintaining eco balance for healthy living.
Meanwhile, Digvijay Singh, Rakesh Kumar and Abhi Kumar bagged first, second and third position in the competition respectively. These winners were presented prizes by the Principal on the occasion. Consolation prizes were also distributed among the par cipants on the occasion.
