DODA, May 23: Ghaziabad Cricket Club and Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club defeated Mumbai Cricket Club and Maharashtra Cricket Club respectively in the ongoing All India 9th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium Doda and organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC), here.
The first match was played between Ghaziabad Cricket Club and Mumbai Cricket Club. Batting first after winning the toss, Ghaziabad Cricket Club scored 142 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Imran top scored with 51 runs, while Shryar contributed 24 runs. From Mumbai Cricket Club, Aditya and Bhanu took 4 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, Mumbai Cricket Club could not chase the target and bundled out for 98 runs. Sudershan was the highest scorer who scored 19 runs, while Mani contributed 18 runs to the total. From Ghaziabad Cricket Club, Amaldeep and Akshay took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Imran of Ghaziabad Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his superb batting performance.
In another match, Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club got better of Maharashtra Cricket Club by 8 wickets in an easy contest. Batting first after winning the toss, Maharashtra Cricket Club scored 75 runs by losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Imran was the highest scorer who scored 21 runs, while Ram Mukesh contributed 15 runs for his team. From Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club, Pramod and Mahesh took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club chased the target in 9.2 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Akhil top scored with 27 runs, while Subramanyam contributed 14 runs for his team. From Maharashtra Cricket Club, Sandeep and Imran took 1 wicket each. Akhil was adjudged man of the match for his best all-round performance.
The matches were officiated by BCCI Panel umpires Dharmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh, while Rinku Badoria acted as the scorer.
