GGHS Hiranagar excels in U-17 girls Kabaddi, Kho-Kho

HIRANAGAR, Apr 25: Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Hiranagar excelled in the Under-17 Kabaddi and Kho-Kho events in the ongoing District Level Inter-School Under-14 and Under-17 Girls Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball Tournaments, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Kathua, here.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kathua, Sunil Kumar. Zonal Physical Education Officer, Sukesh Kumar is the organizing secretary.
A total of 191 girls drawn from 20 schools of Hiranagar zone participated in the evernt.
The matches were officiated by Avnesh Kumar, Uttam Singh, Manohar Lal, Narinder Singh, Darshan Kumar, Sunita Sharma, Kunti Devi, Omkar Singh, Rakesh Kumar Raju, Omkar Nath, Ajay Kumar, Manjeet Kour , Roma Devi and Kewal Krishan.
Earlier, Govt Girls High School, Hiranagar lifted the title of Kabaddi Under-17 by defeating Government High School Sherpur by 6 points.
Similarly, Govt HS Chadwal defeated Govt MS Chanjal by 10 points.
Meanwhile, Govt Girls High School Marheen lifted the title of Under-17 Girls Volleyball by defeating Infants Jesus HSS Hiranagar by 2-0 sets, while Govt. High school Chadwal won the final match of Under-14 Volleyball by defeating Govt MS Phallapur by 2-0 sets.
Trouncing Govt Girls High School, Marheen by one innings in the final, Government Girls HS Hiranagar won the Under-17 Girls Kho-Kho title.
Government Middle School, Ward No. 3 won the uUnder-14 Kho Kho title by just 1 point.
Sanjeev, Sunny, Rajeev Mehta, Manmohan Singh, Raj Karni Anju Bala and Sohan Singh were also present on the occasion.
