REASI, Apr 14: Wrestler Tedo from Georgia lifted the 58th International Kambal Danga Mari (Reasi) Dangal title 2024 by defeating wrestler Kamaljeet of Doomchari (Ropar) (Patha Raju Pahalwan) of Punjab in the main first malli bout.
Wrestler Tedo, the winner of 1st malli was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 71,000 by chief guest Shiv Kumar Sharma and Advocate Pawan Dev Singh, while runner-up wrestler Kamaljeet got a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
Dangal was organized by Jai Peer Baba Dangal Committee Mari Kambal Danga (Reasi) at Kambal Dangal in association with Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Dalip Singh, Balvir Singh, Pawan Kumar, Uttam Singh and other members of the committee.
The chief guest distributed cash prizes of Rs 4, 70,000 among the winners and runners-up wrestlers. Advocate Pawan Dev Singh and former Sarpanch Parshotam Singh were the guests of honour.
Prominent persons present on the occasion included Former Sarpanch Maheshwar Singh, Retired Chief Account officer, Gur Bachan Singh, Ex. Panch Hukam Chand, Gandarb Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Ravi Kumar, Sanjeev Singh and Rattan Singh.
In the 2nd main malli bout was wrestler Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu beat wrestler Palwinder of Akhara Jakhewal resident of Mathura (U.P). The winner Rashid was awarded with a cash prize Rs 15,000 while runner-up wrestler Palwinder got a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Third main bout was won by Nadeem of J&K Police of Doda who defeated Kapil Dhamma of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 12,000 while and runner-up Kapil Dhamma got a cash prize Rs 9,000.
Proceeding of the dangal was conducted by Anil Kumar while welcome address was presented by wrestling promoter Pawan Dev Singh. All 62 bouts were played in the day long “Kanta Kushti” Dangal. The bouts were officiated by Pawan Singh, Raj Singh, Om Parkash Verma, Tulinder Kumar and Deepak Wazir.
Jai Peer Baba Dangal Committee members who helped for the conduct of this Dangal were Dalip Singh, Balvir Singh, Pawan Kumar, Uttam Singh, Arif Choudhary, Bittu Singh, Ajay Singh, Sahil Kumar and Rinku Rasyal. Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.) honoured a prominent social activist Nandi Lal (Age 92 years old), senior most person of village Mari who witnessed the whole dangal in this age.
