GDC Ramnagar claims Inter-Collegiate Volleyball title

JAMMU, Nov 25: Government Degree College Ramnagar lifted the title trophy of Inter Collegiate Volleyball (Women) Tournament, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Volleyball Court.
In the final match, GDC Ramnagar outplayed GCW Parade by 3-1 sets with set score 25-19, 21-25, 25-20 and 25-10. Shivani, Bandu, Meenakshi and Kamlesh of GDC Ramnagar showed outstanding performance and lead the team towards victory whereas Champa Devi, Priyanka and Sunena also played well from GCW Parade.
Er Anik Gupta, Director Centre for IT, Dr Ginny Dogra, Deputy Director DIQA and Er Amit Tagotra, Quality Assurance Officer were the special guests on the occasion and awarded the trophies and medals to the winners and runner up team in the presence of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Suman Lata, Dr Mukesh Sharma and Vikas Karlopia.
Earlier, the semifinal matches were played. In the first semifinal, GDC Ramnagar beat GDC Akhnoor by 3-0 sets with set score 25-13, 25-11 and 25-21, whereas in the second semis, GCW Parade defeated PG Department by 3-2 sets with set score 20-25, 25-15, 25-13, 11-25 and 15-11.
The matches were officiated by the technical panel of experts including Mulkraj Sharma, Amit Sharma, Shubam Sharma, Bhawana Sharma and Vikas Karlopia.
Meanwhile, GDC Kathua, GDC Mendhar, GDC Khour and GDC Marh sailed into the semis of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (men) Tournament, being played at the PV Sindhu Gymnasium Hall of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
GDC Kathua beat GDC Akhnoor by 25 points, GDC Mendhar beat Bhasker Degree College by 36 points, GDC Khour beat GDC Samba by 26 points and GDC Marh beat PG Department by 2 points.
