BILLAWAR, Dec 17: Government Degree College Billawar, in collaboration with Department of Life Long Learning, University of Jammu, organized an Extension Lecture on “Art of creative writing in youth”, here today.
The function was coordinated by Dr Mool Raj, Department of Urdu. Dr DK Vaid, Ex Director School Education and Sahitya Academy Awardee, was special invitee, while Principal of the College, Prof BL Gupta presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vaid unfolded the basic prerequisites needed to be a successful writer. He urged the students to give their thoughts a vent in a way so as to reach beyond the bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, or technical forms of literature.
Principal, Prof BL Gupta expressed happiness over the enthusiasm showed by the students and thanked Dr Vaid for his visit to the college. He urged the students to lay emphasis on narrative craft, character development, and the use of literary tropes in their writings.
Shagun Sharma, Lecturer in English, conducted the proceedings of the programme, while Dr Mool Raj, program in charge, presented vote of thanks to the dignitaries on behalf of the college and the Department of Life Long Learning, University of Jammu.
