Sinthan Festival

KISHTWAR, May 1: The Government Degree College Kishtwar (GDC Kishtwar) has shown a scintillating performance at the Inter-College Dance Competition held during the First-ever Sinthan Festival.
The event was organized by the Directorate of Tourism Jammu in collaboration with the District Administration Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages besides the Indian Army here at Sinthan Maidan of Kishtwar District.
On the first day of the competition, five teams from GDC Thathri, ITI Kishtwar, and GDC Kishtwar participated to showcase their talent. Both dance teams from GDC Kishtwar emerged victorious, with one team crowned the winner for their Kala Kot dance performance, and the other team securing the runner-up position for their Lavni dance (Maharashtrian).
The programme was graced by the august presence of DDC Chairperson, Kishtwar Pooja Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav, Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Bharat Singh Manhas, Joint Director Tourism Jammu,. Sunaina Sharma Mehta.
Vimarsh Aryan (IFoS); Sham Lal, ADDC Kishtwar; Inderjeet Parihar ADC Kishtwar/CEO Kishtwar Development Authority; Abdul Jabbar, Deputy Director (Publicity) Tourism Jammu, along with other officials of the Tourism Department and District and sectoral Officers of District Administration and police and army were also present.
Over 4,000 spectators, including tourists from different regions of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory were in attendance to witness the captivating dance performances presented by the GDC dance groups in the Sinthan Festival.
The performances of both teams for GDC Kishtwar were highly appreciated by the audience and dignitaries present at the event. Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal GDC Kishtwar, congratulated and extended her best wishes to the dance crews for their remarkable achievement.
