GDC Kathua emerges overall Champion in Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo

JAMMU, Jan 18: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua emerged champion in the International Collegiate Taekwondo Championship, organised by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at Varsity Gymnasium Hall, here today.
Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education was the chief guest on the occasion, who awarded medals and trophies to the winners and other medallists.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Raj Kumar Bakshi, Cricket Coach, Ravish Vaid, Table Tennis Coach, Vikas Karlopia, Volleyball Coach, Dr. Brij Balowria, Romesh Sharma and PD Singh.
In 54 kg, Randheer, GDC Kathua won Gold, Sandeep Singh, GGM Science College    clinched Silver, while Aman Gupta, MAM College and Gourav Sharma, SPMR College of Commerce shared Bronze.
In 58 kg, Vishesh Thakur GDC Kathua clinched Gold, Vinay Chaudhary, MAM College claimed Silver, while  Akshay of  SPMR College of Commerce    and Bhanu Sharma, GGM Science College shared Bronze.
63 kg: Tashi Tundup, MAM College-Gold; Abhishekh Rathore, GDC Udhampur-Silver; Sahil Kumar, SPMR College of Commerce-Bronze; Lakshit Sharma, GDC Kathua-Bronze.
68 kg: Bhanu Partap Atri, GGM Science College-Gold; Tarun, SPMR College of Commerce-Silver; Sahil Kumar, SPMR College of Commerce-Bronze; Lakshit Sharma, GDC Kathua-Bronze
74 kg:  Akhil Sharma, GDC Kathua-Gold; Aman Sharma, PG Department, JU-Silver; Sahil Sambyal, MAM College-Bronze
80 kg:  Pushap Thakur, PG Department, ,JU-Gold; Abhinay Deep Sharma, GDC Kathua-Silver; Ommanish,    SPMR College of Commerce-Bronze 87 kg: Anuj Singh, GDC Kathua-Gold.
87+kg:  Gourav Bhadwal, GDC Kathua-Gold; Gulab Singh, GGM Science College-Silver and Bhawarjeet Singh of GDC Udhampur-Bronze.
The bouts were officiated by Atual Pangotra (International Referee),  Zaheer Abass, Sanjay Kumar, Sanjeet Sharma, Mukta Gupta, Narinder Sharma and Rajat Thakur.
