GDC Kathua conducts Inter-Collegiate debate contest

KATHUA, Sept 22: Government Degree College, Kathua conducted an Inter-collegiate debate on the topic
‘Social Networking Technology is making us More anti-Social’ in the College premises, here today.
Prof KS Sohal, Head, Department of Geography, Punjabi University, Patiala, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr VS Manhas, Head of the Department of Geography, University of Jammu was the guest of honour.
Earlier, Dr Nater Singh, Principal GDC Kathua presented welcome address.
Prof Dhian Singh, Prof Yog Dutt and Prof Jagmohan Singh, retired Professors, acted as the jury members to adjudge the performance of the participants from different colleges of the State.
Meanwhile, Kumer Jit Chajgotra from GDC Hiranagar claimed first place, Shriya Katoch from GDC Kathua stood second, while Manjyot Kour from GDC Kathua bagged the third place in the competition.  Consolation prize was given to Vandhana Chib from GDC Boys, Udhampur.
The programme was conducted by Prof. Neelam Thappa and Prof. Samriti Singh.
Later-on, Dr Sangeeta presented vote of thanks.
