GDC Hiranagar, Degree College Akhnoor script wins

JAMMU, Jan 19: Government Degree College (GDC), Hiranagar and GDC Akhnoor defeated their rivals and advanced into the next round of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
Earlier, GDC Hiranagar defeated Law School by a margin of 36 runs.
GDC Hiranagar scored a good total of 161 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Gourav (66) and Munish (60) scored brilliant fifties. Anil took 2 wickets, while Sahil claimed on for Law School.
In reply, Law Scholl managed to score 125 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 36 runs. Viren (46) and Shahrukh Khan (34) were the main contributors.  Anil took 2 wickets, while Sahil, Amit and Ashu shared one wicket apiece for GDC Hiranagar.
In another match, GDC Akhnoor defeated GDC Ramnagar by a narrow margin of 15 runs. GDC Akhnoor scored 91 runs, with Viashal contributing 18 and Amit and Sharan chipping in with 16 runs each. Akshay took 3 wickets for GDC Ramnagar, while Sanjay and Vishal claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, GDC Ramnagar collapsed at 76 runs to lose the match by 15 runs. Panlan and Vishal contributed 35 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Sunil Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for GDC Akhnoor, who took 5 important wickets, while Sachiv bagged 2 wickets and Sharan and Neeraj claimed one wicket each.
The matches were officiated by Raman Kumar, Suresh Singh, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Vijay Dogra and Manu Khajuria.
