JAMMU, May 25: As a part of curriculum, GD Goenka Public School, organised “Students Tour” to Krishi Bhawan, Department of Agriculture.
The students were made aware about the four sections based on agricultural activities, which satisfied the curiosity of the students for accomplishing their goal of collecting information.
The four sections were apiculture, which is cultivation of honeybees, mushroom cultivation, vermicomposting, floriculture and soil testing laboratory.
The students were briefed about the entire procedure of vermicompost and also about the mushroom cultivation. The step-by-step procedure of apiculture were also explained to the students who also learnt about floriculture in depth.
Dr Mohita, Sarita, Monika and Rimjim, teachers of the school, coordinated the visit.
While speaking, Poonam Jha, Principal of the school, expressed gratitude to the agriculture department for providing indepth knowledge to the students about agriculture.
She added that the school has recently started with the Eco-Club and with this visit the students will be motivated to participate in all the activities undertaken under the banner of Eco-Club.
