UDHAMPUR, Sept 20: To Commemorate World Ozone Day, Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur organized Inter-College symposium in the College premises, here today.
17 students drawn from 9 different colleges of Jammu province participated in the event.
District Development Com-missioner, Yasha Mudgal was the chief guest on the occasion, who spoke on the topic and highlighted the various aspects pertaining to saving the environment.
Prof Indira Rathore, former Principal, presided over the function and Prof Sarla Kohli, former Principal was the guest of honour.
Sunita Razdaan, District Coordinator, DS&T, Udhampur were also present on the occasion.
Dr Youdhvir Singh, Principal Govt College for Women, Udhampur presented welcome address. Report of the 3 days event was presented by Dr Archana Gupta, HoD Zoology.
The Jury comprised of Dr SK Magotra, Govt PG College (Boys), Udhampur, Dr G R Verma, Govt PG College (Boys), Udhampur, Dr Seema Rani Minhas, GCW Udhampur and Dr Subhash Chander Sharma, GCW Udhampur. The staff members of the host college were also present.
In symposium 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Sunanda Bakshi, GCW, Udhampur, Oshin Bakshi, Govt PG College (Boys), Udhampur, Meenal Sharma, GCW Udhampur while 1st and 2nd consolation were given to Waheed Qureshi of Govt MAM College, Jammu and Tanabi of GDC, Ramnagar while 3rd consolation prize was shared by Hemant Dogra of Govt MAM College, Jammu and Nitika of GDC (Boys), Kathua.
