GCW Parade wins Inter-Collegiate Judo C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 7: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade emerged overall champion in the Inter-College Judo Championship held under the banner of Directorate of Sports, University of Jammu (JU) on the campus, here today.
The GCW Parade secured highest 19 points while Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua remained at second place with 16 points.
Dr Brij Baloria was the chief guest, who presented medals and overall championship trophy. Also present were Prof Ashu Jolly, Gautam Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Romesh Chander, Vikesh Kumar, Sanjeev Jamwal and Suman Lata.
The technical penal comprised of Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Virender Sharma and Jai Bharat.
The Results: Below 44 Kg: Pranvi Rajput (GDC Samba), Ist; Kusum Lata (GDC Kathua), 2nd and Razia Akhtar (GDC Jindrah), 3rd. Below 48 Kg: Reena Jasrotia (GDC Kathua), Ist; Radha (GCW Parade), 2nd; Anupama Thakur (GDC Jindrah) and Sonam Bhau (GDC Khour), joint 3rd. Below 52 Kg: Manisha (GCW Parade), Ist; Seema Devi (GDC Jindrah), 2nd; Komal Sharma (Kathua) and Anjali Bhau (GDC Khour), joint 3rd. Below 57 Kg: Reetika Sharma (GDC Kathua), Ist; Vishali Kundal (GDC Samba), 2nd; Amika Bhau (GDC Khour) and Chhaya (GCW Parade), joint 3rd. Below 63 Kg: Gulshan Bibi (GCW Parade), Ist; Nargis Akhtar (GDC Jindrah), 2nd; Sunily Sharma (GDC Kathua) and Bharti Devi (GDC Khour), joint 3rd. Below 70 Kg: Suniti Devi (GDC Khour), Ist; Parul Sharma (GDC Jindrah), 2nd; Riya (GCW Parade) and Akriti Dhanwal (GDC Kathua), joint 3rd. Below 78 Kg: Bharti Verma (GDC Khour), Ist; Mansi (GCW Parade), 2nd and Pooja Devi (GDC Jindrah), 3rd.
