JAMMU, Sept 18: Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar defeated Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua by (3-1) in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate (Men and Women) Chess Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Gymnasium, here.
GCET Jammu and GDC Udhampur got walkovers against their rivals.
In the men’s section, PG Department outplayed New Age Degree College, Billawar by (4-0), GGM Science College thrashed GDC Billawar again by (4-0), GDC Hiranagar by (3-2) through best versus best and GDC Kathua defeated GDC Udhampur by (3-1).
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
