JAMMU, Sept 11: The Department of Home Science, PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, celebrated National Nutrition Week and Poshan Maah with a series of engaging activities.
A Power Salad Competition saw enthusiastic participation from 32 students, who presented innovative and nutritious salads to promote healthy eating habits. The competition was judged by Dr. Archana Bakshi (HoD, English), Dr. Shradha Anand (Associate Professor, Chemistry) and Dr. Monika Hans (HoD, FST), whose insightful evaluation added value to the event.
Students also performed Nukkad Nataks on relevant themes: “Rakt Hai to Jaan Hai” by Group 1, highlighting health and blood awareness, and “Roz ki Thali, Millets Wali” by Group 2, promoting millet-based diets.
First Prize went to Group 2 – Anjana Thakur and Shruti Megwan; Second Prize to Group 4 – Sanamdeep Kour and Saniya Chowdhary; and Third Prize to Group 13 – Priya Chowdhary and Manvi Aggarwal.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra appreciated the efforts of students and faculty. The event was led by Dr. Shivani Sawhney, along with Prof. Vishav Deepika, Dr. Archana Bhat, Dr. Iesha Sharma and Dr. Arpana Langeh.
