JAMMU, Sept 29: The team from Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, bagged the first prize in the Inter-Collegiate/ Departmental Group Song (Indian) Competition, organized under the ongoing “Display Your Talent” 2013-14 here at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, while the team from GCW, Parade and Government MAM College, Jammu clinched second and third spots respectively.
The Certificates of Merits were awarded to Govt Degree College (Boys), Udhampur, Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu and Govt Women College, Udhampur respectively.
Each team was required to present two songs including one patriotic and other a folk one in ten minutes.
Praduman Singh, Sham Sajan and Nand Kishore Pal were the adjudicators of the Competition.
Dr Shallu Sehgal from the Department of Economic was the Teacher Incharge, who apprised the participants about the rules and regulations of the contest.
Prof Neeru Sharma, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee distributed the prizes and certificates amongst the participants in presence of Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare and Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Apoorva Jamwal, secretary, Students Cultural Council, while Joginder Singh acted as Time-Keeper.
Meanwhile, the Painting and Installation Cartooning and Sketching events postponed due to the Jammu Bandh earlier will be held on October 24, 2013 and October 25, 2013 at 10:30 am respectively.
Semi-Classical Vocal Solo will be held at 10:30 am at the same venue tomorrow.
