The event was organised by Airtel Delhi Half Marathon virtually. This was his 7th half marathon with Airtel Delhi and 5th in a row barefeet. Gaurav Gupta completed his barefoot run before the stipulated time which was set by the management of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon.
During his running which started from Jakh, he has been chanting slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ by holding Indian National Flag throughout the route.
“After getting inspiration from Milind Soman, the iron man and the barefoot marathoner, he has participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon and completed his first full marathon of 42 km barefoot and many others,” said Gourav Gupta.
“However, he had started his journey as marathon in the year of 2014 but after 2017 and getting inspiration from the Milind Soman, he has only been participating in barefoot running,” Gupta added.
