Anil Memorial Cricket Tourney concludes

UDHAMPUR, Mar 7: Three days Anil Memorial Cricket Tournament, organized by Kulbir Singh, Varinder Singh, Ragubir Singh, Rakesh Sharma and Madan Sharma concluded, here today at Meer-Patan.
The event was organised with an objective to harness the talent of youth in sports activities and strengthen the police-public relationship.
Jasvir Singh, DDC Councillor Panchari-Moungri was the chief guest, while Kuldeep Kumar Sarpanch Chulna and Nveena Devi Sarpanch Upper-Meer were the guests of honour.
The final match was played between Mir Cricket Club and Team Galiote. The toss was won by Mir Cricket Club team and decided to field first.
Batting first, Galiote-Nali Nikka scored 96 runs by losing three wickets in 10 overs, while Mir Cricket Club bundled out at 87 runs by losing six wickets in stipulated 10 overs and lost the match by nine runs.
The winner team was awarded with trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10000, whereas runner up team was also awarded with trophy along with cash prize Rs 2200.
Man of the series prize went to Rajan from Police Station Panchari, while Pavitter Singh from Galiote was awarded with man of the match award.
“Series of activities are being organised in the Panchari Moungri as a part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to keep the youth away from drug addiction and channelize their energies in a positive direction,” Sarpanch Chulna Kuldeep Kumar said.
Speaking on the occasion, Jasvir Singh said that such types of tournaments will help the youth to divert their energy towards positive direction and promote sportsmanship among them.
Sarpanches, Panches, social activist and prominent citizens of the areas were also present on the occasion.
