Jammu, June 3: The campus of Banyan International School came alive on Sunday with the inauguration of ‘Fun in the Sun”, Summer Camp, an annual event much looked forward to by the students and the parents, here.
The day started with a prayer to the Almighty followed by yoga to keep the children focused throughout the day.
The Camp has a wide range of activities for students with varied aptitude aimed at honing the creativity and sporting talent of students and grooming them to develop a holistic personality.
Among the performing arts the major attraction of the camp is theatre workshop by ‘Natrang’, the renowned theatre troupe of Jammu.
The students will polish and learn various acting skills under the guidance and supervision of the ‘Natrang’ Group. The camp also has an array of Art & Craft activities for children including decoupage, tile decoration, canvas painting macramé, cross stitch, origami and blow painting.
The children will also be shaking their legs and learning hip-hop, freestyle, fusion forms and semi-classical dance.
The sports activities include swimming, skating, karate, badminton and gymnastics.
Personality development classes wherein basic interview skills, dining etiquette, social etiquette and public speaking will also be emphasized.
The children thoroughly enjoyed beating the heat on the first day of the Camp.
