JAMMU, Apr 19: Four players of J&K have been selected for National Cricket Academy (NCA) camp Under-19, being organised by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the month of May.
The four players namely Arya Thakur (Batsman), Namit Jasrotia (Bowler), Shivansh Sharma (Wicketkeeper) and Mohd Manzir (All-rounder) have been selected on their performances in different domestic tournaments, played in the Union Territory and outside J&K.
Brig Anil Gupta (Retd), JKCA (Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association) Member Administration said that it was for the first time when four players of J&K have been shortlisted for NCA camp which is scheduled to be held in the month of May. Although, the final date for organising the camp will be announced by the BCCI soon. “These four players have been selected by national selectors on the basis of their performances in different domestic tournaments and it is a proud moment for J&K especially for the JKCA,” said Anil Gupta.
He further said that both Arya Thakur and Shivansh Sharma have represented J&K in Under-25 multi-days tournament recently, while Namit and Mohd Manzir have impressed the cricket lovers as well as national selectors with their bowling and all-rounder performance respectively.
He congratulated the players for the upcoming camp and wished good luck.
