Formidable Maharashtra to take on strong Kerala in finals today

JAMMU, Feb 8: Getting the better of their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, formidable team of Maharashtra and almost equally balanced Kerala have made it to the finals of the 65th National School Games Under-19 Boys Kho-Kho Championship and will lock horns against each other in the summit clash at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, here tomorrow.
The Championship, in which around 800 players drawn from 26 teams across the country is being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
The Championship is being held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Kerala defeated Tamil Nadu by 1 innings and 2 points to seal berth in the finals. Adil Ahmed and Ajay were the star performers from Kerala.
In another semifinal, Maharashtra prevailed over Haryana by 14 points to qualify for the title clash. Dilip Khanavi scored maximum points for Mahara.
The final will be held tomorrow, which will be followed by the closing ceremony at 1 pm.
