Formidable J&K to face equally balanced Andhra Pradesh today

MUMBAI, Oct 19: It will be the battle of equals as formidable J&K will be facing almost equally balanced Andhra Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy plate group match at Cricket Club of India (CCI), Mumbai from tomorrow.
In the last two outing between these two teams, each team has won once. Moreover in the two outings this season, Andhra outrightly lost against Haryana and drew against Himachal Pradesh in a rain hit match, while on the other hand J&K drew against Kerala and won outrightly against Goa.
The surface at CCI is usually firm and ideal for batting, however, because of heavy rains last week and some showers two days back, there seems to be slight dampness in the wicket. For that matter, both the teams have decided to choose the playing 11 tomorrow morning only after examining the wicket.
While in batting, J&K will be relaying on the batting trio of Parvez Rasool, Ian Dev Singh and skipper Mithun Manhas, who will be eager to score big runs after his failure in the match against Goa. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh will rely on Hanuma Vihari, Prashant Kumar, KS Barat and Dwaraka Ravi Teja on their batting.
On the bowling front, J&K apart from the pace bowling trio of Ram Dayal, Samiullah Beigh and Umar Nazir will heavily be dependent on off spinner Parvez Rasool, while Andhra Pradesh have Shiv Kumar, Bandaru Ayyappa, Cheepurapalli Stephen and Bhargav Bhatt in their bowling line up.
Toss will be crucial as it will give liberty to the captain of the team to realise the behaviour of the wicket and take the decision accordingly.
