SRINAGAR, Apr 29: With its exclusive motive to promote spirit of sports among Force personnel, CRPF Srinagar Sector organized Inter (OPS) BNs/GC Football Tournament-2016 from at HQ/43 Bn CRPF, DPL Complex, Budgam, here.
The four day event concluded in a colourful closing ceremony held at DPL Complex, Budgam (J&K). 24 teams of Valley based units/establishments of CRPF contended for the laurels. The most awaited fascinating final Match was played between 75 and 79 Bns CRPF where performing persistently hard in achieving so, 75 Bn CRPF finally lifted Winner’s trophy by a close score of 03-02.
The closing ceremony was presided over by KK Sharma, DIG CRPF Srinagar (South). Other Officers from CRPF, J&K Police and Media persons also graced the occasion with their presence. The objective of this tournament was to encourage and acknowledge the sportsmanship among Force personnel who’re round the clock deployed in various challenging duties in Kashmir.
While addressing the players, Mr Sharma said- “The game of football holds quite significant place among all sports, for the game demands fine stamina to make it to the victory. The sole purpose of organizing this event has been truly accomplished”.
