KISHTWAR, Feb 25: The first ever three days Winter Games which commenced on February 23, 2020 came to an end at Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, here today.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara was the chief guest on the occasion, while ADDC Kishtwar Mohd Hanif Malik , ASP Kishtwar Ajaz Zargar, Divisional Sports Officer JKSC Ravi Singh, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar Anoop Kumar, CMO Kishtwar, Dr Ravinder Manhas, DYSSO Kishtwar, Accounts Officer Daleep Singh Rathore and other officers of District Administration along with the participants were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Winter Games were flagged off by the ADDC Kishtwar Mohd Hanif Malik at Singhpora, Chhatroo.
The Games were organised by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) under the supervision of Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, Ravi Singh and Manager Sports Management in collaboration with District Administration Kishtwar.
138 participants drawn from 5 different districts of Jammu took part in 3 activities (Snow Sledging, Cross Country Race & Snowman Making) with great fervour and enthuasism.
DDC Kishtwar gave away the prizes to the winners in different sports categories.
Consolation prizes in the form of appreciation certificates were also given away to the rest of participants.
DDC Kishtwar while addressing the participants stressed upon the JKSC to arrange such events with advance intimation so that better administrative facilities could be provided to the expectations of participants.
“There is lack of sports infrastructure in this district but administration is exploring the possibility of sports fields at each panchayat level through khelo India Programme,” DDC added.
He also asked the JKSC to organise the visit of participants to the historical and religious places of the district so that the participants from outside the district may know about the culture and heritage of Kishtwar and could contribute in their holistic development.
