JAMMU, Aug 5: Promoted by Sudershan Mahajan and Raju Chowdhary Group, the first of its kind First-Class Indoor sports facility-‘KC Sports Club’ located at Akhnoor Road Jammu, adjacent to KC Public School opened its portals to the Public in an impressive, well attended and colourful function, here today.
Sudershan Mahajan, chairman KC Group declared the Club open in presence of its Managing Director, Arjun Chowdhary and a galaxy of dignitaries, thus ushering Jammuites into a new era of health, wellness and fitness, besides smacking an ecstatic feeling to the minds of budding sportspersons.
The Club is spread over 3 floors, covering an area of around 60,000 sqft over 1.5 acres of land.
The Club has unique Cybex fitness equipment imported from the USA in its Gym housed in a high ceiling 4, 300 sqft hall, a Robot for automatic playing in the Table Tennis hall and a sophisticated Bowling Machine in the Cricket hall, apart from other basic facilities.
Adventure enthusiasts interested in scaling rocky cliffs with considerable degree of difficulty can enjoy the facility of rock climbing wall on one side of the Gym hall.
The Club also possesses Multi Sports hall-1 for Martial Arts and Multi Sports hall-2 for Table Tennis measuring 2000 sqft each.
Earlier, in his welcome speech, Sidhant Chowdhary gave a brief description of the sporting and the recreational activities available in the Club and appealed to the people to improve the quality of their lives through health and wellness.
The Club is the end product of the tireless efforts of its Managing Director, Arjun Chowdhary, who had nurtured the dream of opening the world class sports facility for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as he was impressed with and motivated by such facility during his Graduation from the University of Nottingham, UK.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr Arjun elaborated on the mission of the Club and made it categorically clear that despite its commercial nature, the Club is totally dedicated to the services of the community.
Speaking on the existing status of the Club, Mr Arjun said that Phase-1 of the project has been completed with the opening of the Gym and two Multi-purpose halls on the ground floor.
He said the halls apart from sports activities are ready for creative dance classes under the aegis of Shiamak Davar’s Dance Academy from Mumbai.
He further said the swimming Pool is also under construction and the large multi-sports Indoor hall on the second floor would be completed by November and will offer a variety of games like squash, basketball, football, volleyball, lawn tennis, badminton and table tennis.
