JAMMU, June 2: Minister of State for Science and Technology, School Education Feroz Ahmed Khan today gave away J&K Innovative Science and Technology Awards 2013 to three teachers and distributed J&K Science and Technology Scholarships (2013) among selected students here today at a function held at GGM Science College.
The awards and scholarships have been instituted by J&K State Council for Science and Technology Department of Science and Technology J&K to recognize the contribution of teachers in promotion of innovation among students and encourage children with scientific temper to put their innovation to use.
Among the teachers the award recipients included two college lecturers and one Plus two lecturer.
Director Colleges, Director School Education, Principal of the College besides faculty members, students in large number and parents were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister hailed the students and teachers for their achievements and getting Science and Technology scholarship / awards. He said that Science and Technology department endeavors to harness the potential of Science and Technology as an instrument of socio-economic change.
Director Colleges also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the activities of the college.
