JAMMU, Nov 7: J&K’s International fencer Vansh Mahajan has been selected for FIE Sabre Junior World Cup to be held at Sochi in Russia. Vansh will represent India from November 11 to November 12, 2017.
The ace fencer has already participated in number of International competitions including Junior & Cadet Commonwealth Fencing Championship in July 2015 at Cape Town, South Africa, Thailand Open Fencing Championship in September 2016 at Bangkok, Thailand, Hongkong Open Fencing Championship in December 2016 at Hongkong, Singapore Junior Fencing Championship in May 2017 at Singapore and Navy Open Fencing Championship June 2017 at Bangkok, Thailand.
Vansh attributes his success to International players and State and Sher-e-Kashmir awardees Rashid Choudhary and Ujjawal Gupta, besides his chief coach, Shotu Lal.
